On Sunday June 13, 2010, the residents of the Municipality of Shannon came together in support of Leucan. Participants collected money from sponsors and in return they shaved their heads. VEQ’s very own Executive Director, Jean-Sebastien J. Gignac, decided to partake in the event and after raising over 1,300 dollars, he too shaved his head.

The event was sponsored by Coiffure Extrême (428, boul. Jacques-Cartier 418-844-0122) and was held at the Shannon Community Centre (75, chemin de Gosford). There was a great turn out right at the beginning of the event which lasted all day. There were many activities to entertain the whole family; there was live music, face painting, a bouncy house, and refreshments.

The community came out to support all the donors (which included Mayor Clive Kiley and Paul Wilson [Central Quebec School Board Social services Officer] to name a few). Men, women, and children all participated and together made the day a success.
