Services
VEQ is dedicated to assisting its members and the greater community at large in order to ensure the continual development of a strong and healthy English-speaking community.
Aside from providing key information referrals, we sponsor a job bank for individuals seeking employment in English, conduct in-depth research on community needs and youth issues, welcome newcomers, and act as a key stakeholder in all advocacy concerns on behalf of English-speaking individuals and institutions.
Information Referral
VEQ provides information referral to individuals requiring services in English. The referral service attracts a wide clientele, from community groups looking to advertise their services, Anglophone residents looking for specific services in English, to newcomers in the community who require a complete overview of what is offered and where such services are located.
Employment
VEQ’s employment service is aimed to help the English-speaking and bilingual population living in the Québec City area find employment.
Our free service provides employment related information to job seekers, creates awareness of English and bilingual employment opportunities, and assists employers in need of personnel with these linguistic qualifications.
The primary feature of our service is the online Job Bank, which is updated regularly as opportunities arrive. We encourage job seekers to consult this page on a regular basis.
In addition to the Job Bank, VEQ has also formed key partnerships with organizations that can also assist individuals from the English-speaking community with their employment needs.
FORT Program - offers employment assistance to the English-speaking community.
Multi-Plastik - provides a return to workforce program.
Artmerik – practice firm, return to workplace program.

Advocacy
VEQ believes in promoting the interests of the English-speaking community. We view our advocacy role within the community as critical to ensuring the vitality and preservation of English-speaking institutions, and cultural traditions.
Advocacy involves, as needed, identifying issues of interest to the ESL community; researching and preparing positions and, if appropriate, presenting these positions to the proper forums and government bodies.
For example, in fall 2003 and winter 2004, VEQ led the initiative to save the local community-based board of directors of the Jeffery Hale Hospital and Saint Brigid’s home for the elderly. VEQ was also intrical in helping to save the DDO high school in Valcartier and will continue to strive for adequate representation and protect the rights of the English-speaking community in areas such as health, education, and social services.
