Canada Homestay International – Looking for host families

Canada Homestay International invites you to host and to make a friend of a visiting student enrolled in 4 – 10 month high school programs.

As the Canada Summer Games approach, plans are coming together for our volunteer homestay program. Participants aged 18-30 will be invited to come join in the excitement for one week during the Games. They will stay at Bishop’s College School in Lennoxville, volunteer at the Sherbrooke 2013 Canada Games and participate in a variety of activities that showcase the rich English-speaking culture of the historic Eastern Townships. Participants food, travel to Sherbrooke and accommodations while they are here will be subsidized by the program.

Providing homestay to international students is a fabulous way to support your schools and an opportunity to bring the world to your home. Be a part of this fantastic program with Canada Homestay International, and receive a student carefully selected for your family, cultural and practical orientation, ongoing support from an experienced homestay management team including 24–hour emergency support, and a monthly stipend to defray any expenses.

What makes a great homestay?
A caring and patient family! Visiting students want to experience life as part of a Canadian family and learn English in a friendly environment.  Besides providing meals and a safe, secure and welcoming home away from home, it is important to include your student in family activities, outings, and discussions. We ask only that host families live by the Golden Rule and look out for their visiting student as they would for a member of their own family.
