CEDEC’s Mature Workers Initiative

Québec’s labour market is facing a challenge in recruiting skilled resources due to a lack of available workers. Considering that a longer active work life contributes a multitude of benefits to today’s mature workers, a key solution to this labour force challenge is right in our community.

CEDEC’s Mature Workers Initiative aims to identify and address challenges faced by English-speaking individuals over the age of 55 with respect to today’s workplace. Together with local partners and service providers, CEDEC summer student Mark Georges is collecting statistical and testimonial data to shed light on the employment needs of mature workers.  Mark will be learning about their experiences and helping to develop an employability strategy for improved access to available services and resources.
