There were close to 80 people in attendance at VEQ’s 2010 Annual General Meeting, held on Thursday, May 27 in the Coin Soleil room at Jeffery Hale Hospital. Emceed by Bill Donnelly, the meeting gave members the opportunity to hear about activities from the previous year, as well as exciting new initiatives. President John Haberlin paid tribute to Marianna O’Gallagher, who passed away days before the meeting, and thanked her for her contributions to the English-speaking community.

Certificates of appreciation were given to departing board members: Ann Martell, Brigitte Wellens, Ed Sweeney, Gina Farnell, and Stephen Burke. Executive Director, Jean-Sébastien Gignac introduced and thanked the Board of directors and VEQ staff for all of their hard work, without which the organization would not have been able to provide the programs and services that took place over the past year. The organization now welcomes its 2010-2011 board of directors:
